The National Institute of Statistics of Rwanda of the National University of Rwanda conducted, with the support of UNIFEM, a baseline survey on gender-based violence in Rwanda, in 2009. The survey was conducted in 6 districts of the country out of 30 in total and it covered all forms of violence. The information collected was disaggregated by sex, age and marital status.
